Despite their similarities, these two trim levels have quite a few unique elements as well. As you can see from the chart above, the LX comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the EX has a CVT. Drivers can also choose to upgrade to CVT on the Civic LX. Each model has a distinct wheel type as well as different climate control systems. Another big difference to be aware of is the safety and driver assisted technology features that come with the Civic EX but are unavailable on the LX trim. These include Collision Mitigation Braking System™, Road Departure Mitigation system, Lane Departure Warning system, Adaptive Cruise Control, Honda LaneWatch™ blind spot display, and others.
