What events are going on around Thanksgiving in St. John’s, NL?

Thanksgiving Family Fossil Hike
When: October 14th at 2:00 PM
Where: Meet at 7 Conception Bay Highway by Manuels River
What: If you’re looking for something a little different to do on Thanksgiving, this is it. Dr. Rod Taylor will be guiding this hike, which goes along a trail to a protected fossil site. Come prepared to be on your feet for 90 minutes. You get some exercise and some new knowledge while enjoying the great outdoors.
Jack O’Lantern Festival
When: October 12th and 20th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Where: Lester’s Farm Chalet at 92 Pearl Town Road
What: The Jack O’Lantern is a great way to celebrate with family and have fun with the kids. Admission includes a petting zoo, hayride, and face painting. Extra activities include a bouncy castle, scarecrow building contest, hot pepper eating contest, and more. This event is a great way to spend the holiday weekend with your family.
Trucktober
When: October 11th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Where: Lion’s Club at 102 Bonaventure Avenue
What: Friday evenings in October will be celebrated at Lion’s Club with mobile food vendors operating outside. Inside will be a cash bar featuring happy hour prices. Vendors and music will set the mood for this event, a great place to socialize with friends and give thanks to those you know.
